Dr. Blaine Oden
Dr. Blaine Oden graduated from Texas Tech University in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. Shortly thereafter, he began veterinary school at Ross University on the island of St. Kitts. In 2003, Dr. Oden graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. He has practiced at several different veterinary hospitals in that time. Dr. Oden spent the majority of his practice career in Lubbock and helped build a very successful practice. Thankfully, it was not God’s will for him to own that practice, and it was sold to a large veterinary corporation from California. Dr. Oden wanted to continue practicing in Lubbock, and provide quality, personalized care for the pets in this community, so he started his own practice.
Hello, my name is Candice Flieg. I was born and raised in a small town named Sainte Genevieve, Missouri. It’s a beautiful and very historic town that’s very worth visiting. I made the move to Lubbock in 2015 with my husband for him to finish his degree at Texas Tech. I graduated in 2014 from Jefferson College – School of Veterinary Technology. I have been working as a Veterinary Technician since 2012 and have loved every minute of it. I have a 5-year-old black lab mix named Bentley. I love to travel and see new places any chance I get. I am a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and look forward to baseball season every year. GO CARDS!!
My name is Catarina Gutierrez. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Biomedical Science and hope to enter the veterinary school very soon! I have a Chihuahua named Conchita who loves me unconditionally, but don’t be fooled! I like big mutts too and I cannot lie! (Yes, I am also cheesy.) I dance folklorico when I’m not too busy working (if you don’t know what that is I’d be glad to talk about it!) During the Summer of 2015 I had the opportunity to volunteer in Guatemala and aided in bringing veterinary care to the rural towns. This experience was eye opening and I hope to travel to more amazing places!
Hello, My name is Summer Gutierrez-Balch, I was born and raised in Slaton, Tx. I decided to make the big move down the street to Lubbock to pursue my dream of working in a vet clinic. In February of 2018, I graduated from Vista College’s Veterinary Technician Program. I have one fur child (for now) named Zaida, who means the world to me. When I am not at work, I enjoy going to concerts, drawing, painting, and being crafty! I am truly blessed to work with the team at Oden Veterinary Hospital and look forward to growing with them. I am also looking forward to meeting you all and providing the best care for your loving pets!
Hello, my name is Bailey Wilson. I’m from a small town in East Texas called Palestine, but I moved to Lubbock in 2016 to attend college. I am currently a senior pursuing a degree in animal science from Texas Tech University. Guns up! I have worked as a technician at Oden Veterinary Hospital since August 2019 and have enjoyed every moment of it. When I’m not at work or school, I love to fish, hike, or do anything outdoors. One day, I hope to attend veterinary school and achieve my dream of becoming a mixed animal veterinarian. Until then, I look forward to meeting you and caring for all of your fur babies!
Hello, my name is Madalynn Thamm. I was born and raised in a small town in south Texas but moved to the Lake Travis (Austin) area at the end of middle school. I recently graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. Ever since I was little, I have loved working with animals and caring for our various pets. I have a rescue, named Rocky, that is a mixture of several different hound breeds, and he will howl at you when he wants attention! In my free time, I like to work on various DIY projects and crafts. I understand the importance of treating every animal like it is your own, so I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your pets!

I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies and providing the care that your pet deserves.
